Prior to launching Saband Consulting, Dr. Patel was the Executive Vice President for Clinical Operations at US Acute Care solutions. Earlier, he was the Chief Operations Officer for VEP Healthcare. Dr. Patel served as the Chief Medical Officer at various hospitals including Woodland Memorial Hospital and Northbay Healthcare Group. He also worked as the Chief Operations Officer for the NorthBay Hospital and Vaca Valley Hospital, part of the NorthBay Health Care Group and Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield, which is part of Dignity Healthcare system.

Dr. Patel is a highly regarded healthcare executive known for his ability to manage healthcare operations and lead teams to accomplish dramatic improvements in performance and profitability. With a proven track record of building positive relationships, achieving high standards, and resolving issues collaboratively, he has been the driving force behind successful post-merger outcomes and transformational impact. He has diverse clinical, non-clinical hospital, and medical group experience and is a trusted advisor to senior executive teams, hospital administrations, and medical staff. He is committed to maintaining the highest regulatory compliance standards, quality of care, physician relations, and personnel development.

Dr. Patel received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from University of California, Berkeley. He received his medical degree from University of Health Sciences/the Chicago Medical School; as well as completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Patel also holds a Master of Business Administration/Health Care Management from University of Phoenix. In addition to being board certified in emergency medicine, he is a certified physician executive, a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executive. Lastly, he is a certified executive coach from the Executive Coaching Institute at UC Berkeley.
